Digital Health venture capital funding in North America in 2023 reached over $15 billion across 863 deals. This reflects a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 30% compared to the total venture capital funding in 2022. In comparison to five years ago, total funding increased by 14.5 %.

Andreessen Horowitz emerged as the leading investor in North America, injecting a total of $1 billion into 18 ventures in 2023.

In North America, United States represents approximately 93% of all funding, while Canada and Mexico contribute 6% and 1% to the total funding deployed in the region, respectively. Compared to the previous year, funding in United States decreased by 33%.

In North America, 35% of the funding was allocated to specific therapeutic areas. Ventures with a focus on Disease Agnostic raised a total of $7.2 billion in 2023, followed by Oncology and Mental Health raising $2 billion and $1.4 billion, respectively.
