Medical Electronic Systems (MES) is an Israel-based company that develops and manufactures medical devices for the male fertility space. MES recently launched the YO Home Sperm Test, a smartphone-based home sperm test cleared by the FDA and CE. YO combines a free interactive app with a test kit that contains a reusable YO clip (a high-resolution mini-microscope that slides over the smartphone) and all the supplies required to run two tests. In about three minutes, YO provides an automatic reading of moving sperm as well as a sperm video. The results are privately stored in the YO archive and can be sent from the app to the user's healthcare provider or partner. MES developed the YO Home Sperm Test to provide accurate and relevant results for male fertility screening at home in order to encourage men to screen themselves if they are not achieving a pregnancy with their partner.
